I have the new Vetiver and it's fantastic.  It's the same Haitian vetiver that is in the Glace Herbe only without the menthol.  I'm not one that usually likes smokiness in a shaving soap, but I make an exception with this one.  It's like being in the woods and smelling a campfire way, way off in the distance.  And it's got an "earthiness" to it as well.  It is the complete opposite vetiver scent profile of WSP Rustic Vetiver or Seifenglatt Versailles if you've tried those (not a good or bad thing, just different).  And the performance is consistent with all the other CB soaps - outstanding.  I really like this vetiver; it's my third favorite CB soap, right behind LPV and LTV (and I've tried 12 thus far, FWIW).

I have the LPV and love the scent of Vetiver. So my next CB purchase will include the vetiver.

If the glace herbe soap says anything about the  Vetiver scent, it is very nice. Different from LPV  because not that strongly scented, and milder by nature.  It is a good choice. I can also recommend the green orange and morning dew scents. These are quality mature kind of green scents that will grow on you. Not fruity or too simple.

Caties bubbles is a great value. I cannot tolerate LPV due to the spices used but the product, scent and the  person behind it makes them all recommendable IMO
There is a youtube interview with Chris Cullen online

Yesterday I received soap, smells very good, I think it is very similar to Mikes Vetiver but slightly less earthy. Thumbup

Because it is sold out. he has produced a bunch of scents you can not buy right now.

If he has Glace herbe and you are ok with a mild scent, you can go for that

What are you saying man?  "Too many vetivers..."  I didn't think that was possible.

I have the Glacé Herbe and it's my least favorite of the 4 that I own. It's too weak. The cooling effect is good though. The LPV and the Tonsorial Parlour are terrific. So is the Mile High Menthol.

I only hope that Vetiver by itself will be a strong scent. It is said to be the identical type vetiver but stronger (?)
My problem with the Glace herbe is that I have Rosee du matin, FPO also. And now LTV and 420 coming, so a lot of green stuff and as you say, this is rather mild. So I will rather go for Jabonman Tierra Humeda or Cyril Salter Vetiver. Or the Mé soap variaty.  Glace herbe gets kindof lost in my den---Smile

edit: Vetiver would need to be stronger for me to reach for it. As a weak scent I chose these other pleasant scents over it

Mine too. I am going to list it on B/S/T. Mike's Vetiver is the type of scent that I really like.

Wow, haven't thought about Cyril Salter Vetiver in ages.  I love vetiver but that stuff is way too earthy for me.

I now want to check out all the vetiver soaps mentioned in this thread, thank you!!!

Yeah, the Salter French Vetiver stuff is potent and very smoky.  I find that vetiver scents have a lot of variability; some are earthy (like dirt), some are more green, some are very smoky (which I really dislike), and some are almost sweet.  I understand that the variety depends, to a great degree, upon the growing conditions, and, therefore, on weather conditions where it is grown.

Just this morning I finished off a sample of Vetiver from Beer Soap Brewing Company that was very nice; a Haitian vetiver that was sweet and a little bit grassy.  Not at all smoky, and not dirty.   I was sorry to see it go.  I wish I had bought a full puck of it when it was available.  I see that it is no longer in the line-up on Kevin's website.

I can't say about the scent but Catie's Bubbles always has excellent performance.
