I bought some back in November and have used it at least once a week since.  Performance-wise the soap is outstanding. Gobs of slick lather from minimal loading. Great post-shave face feel. The scent lingers a bit after the shave but isn't obtrusive to me. I don't love the scent and will probably opt for another when I'm done with this tub.

I agree. I think it was this post that bogged down his site when I went after my LTV. I already had scored some QCV and can add that if he would have named this a Fougre, he probly could have pulled it of. Its has a very floral/green aroma without smelling like dew covered wet grass. Not over powering or too very strong at all.

My tub of QCV should arrive today, along with a sample of Purple Grapefruit. I'm very curious as to what QCV actually smells like. I like Catie's Bubbles' performance, but I have yet to find a scent in the line I really enjoy (though a few, like Three Wise Guys or Glace Herbe, are fine). I'm one of the few who doesn't care for LPV, so there's that.

Lpv is not my favourite either. I like the green orange and the morning dew scents. The purple grapefruit is a great scent. Bet you will like it! Smile

Well, my order arrived. I haven't lathered either yet since I'm still at work, but I've certainly given both a good sniff. I don't mind QCV at all; in fact I could see getting to quite like it. It doesn't smell of marijuana, but sort of light and earthy at the same time, if that makes sense. There's a cleanness to it. Can't imagine it being offensive at all.

The Purple Grapefruit, though, I like even more; very nice lavender-meets-grapefruit, just as described. Of course the one I like best is the one I only got a sample of. And I'm now running out of room for more soaps. I MUST BE STOPPED.  Tongue

Shaved with QCV this morning. Not bad at all. I'm not particularly into the scent, but I don't mind it, either. Lathered up there was a bit more of a hemp or marijuana note to it, though still nothing strong or obvious. It has a light almost leathery earthiness, combined with freshness.

Of course it lathered up very easily, just as we've come to expect from Catie's Bubbles. No complaints about the shave performance, either.

Bought a tub in early January, fabulous performance but it smells like a fougere to me, I don't get any canabis smell at all. But as I said the performance is absolutely superb! Tons of slick billowy lather with a 15sec load in hard Toronto water. Completely top notch!

On a final note the fragrance burns when I use it. I'm thinking of waiting until spring when my skin isn't so sensitive and trying it again. If it still burns I'll be trading it onward.

I do have burning sensations with LVO (green orange) as well as 420. Was thinking it is the lack of hydration but it is the ingredients. Same with LpV. I may have individual sensitivities to some of it, maybe cinnamon oil as pointed out

I don't care for the LPV either. I am one of the odd balls.
