So I did it. I finally did my first DE Shave yesterday, 06-Feb-2015. I survived. I wasn't sure I would but I did.
It began with a mess of orders which finally all came together a few days ago, the final piece the major component of the arsenal, my weapon of choice - a MT One.

I will start by saying that I do not have a BBS Shave. I had a PDC shave, that's for sure.
I don't know the vernacular or all the proper acronyms so forgive me. I can tell you that PDC is Pretty Dang Cool. Or Pretty Darned Cool. Or just bitchin' for short. I enjoyed the experience. My kit is as was in the photo. I started with a Perfecto Brush and Proraso Shave Cream. I made my leap after a shower. I did a 3-pass, the 3rd of which kind of lost the lather so I did some patch-lathering with my DSC Shave Butter just to smooth over some spots. I stayed true to WTG, ATG, then XTG. Post Shave, you ask? First, clean up with the warm water. Then some Thayer's WH followed by CW (coooooold water) then by my fancy-shmancy CVS AS.

I've learned a lot about shaving and about the shaving experience recently by the grace of forum Users and some YT Videos. This experience was fun. I did a pretty good job on my upper face area but my neck...oh my neck. We've got a long way to go.

While I don't know much, the razor seems very unaggressive. I don't know the right word but I think a 2-year old could have shaved with this razor and not cut himself. That's good and bad. Good because it helped me overcome my initial fear.

Thanks for your help. Thanks for reading. I welcome your tips (non-monetary.)

Welcome and congratulations your first WS! Your start was a lot like mine..... What an amazing experience... Here are some tips and things I enjoy....
1. I use an alum block after the shave. Very nice
2. I like the WH better by adding some lime essential oil to it... Love the fragrance.. Could use another nature ea
3. Experiment with different blades... You will be surprised at the differences

Btw my family and I enjoy the High Springs area most summers... Good memories.....

hey all, what a great welcome - thanks! I'm enjoying, relaxing, reading, learning....it will be slow (it takes 2-3 times at a minimum for things to sink in my thick skull.)

txtag1 - it's beautiful here. I moved from Brazil and Miami Beach to live here in High Springs....close to the caves (I'm a cave diver) and nice people. I'm glad to hear you enjoy it...the springs are awesome.

Thanks everyone for the tips, comments, and nice welcome!
