If I try to search by keyword, time frame, and sub-forum, I always get a null result.  Is it not possible to do a search w/o specifying a specific username?

Teddy, I am going to pass that over to Andrew as he knows more about the search functions than I do. The search is not the MyBB default search;it runs the same enhancements as on 1.6 (the previous version) as far as I know.

I, too, am having difficulty with Search.  I put in CRSW and got this:

that's not really 'diffulty' per se, just that the search engine is not returning any results for 'CRSW'. if you type in cold river, it'll display results. I'll see if this can be tuned some more.

I also did some testing on this Andrew; the "issue" appears to be timeframe; as soon as I selected a timeframe other than the default of "all" the results came back empty with the error string as in the screenshots.

If the Sphinx setup is tuned to not parse a specified timeframe (as that is one of the heaviest aspects of search then I suspect that to be the case) then we should remove that option selection from the template view.

You can also use Google site search.  I do this with a lot of forums where the local search tool doesn't work so well.

For example, go to Google and put in site:shavenook.com crsw

You can further refine this by also putting in a sub-forum name (e.g., site:shavenook.com crsw "Soaps & Creams")

I have also experienced issues with the 'search' feature.

Thank you for this alternative.

I'm too lazy to use it though.  As long as there is a built-in forum search function (that works), then I'll use that.  I'm confident that Andrew will apply his skill to the search issue and bring it to be a useful function for us.
