I'm a 67 year old who has been wet shaving most of my life.  I started out with Gillette DE's and canned foam; then went with carts and back to DE's, cheap brushes and cheap mug soaps.  After my experiences with those brushes and soaps, I switched back to carts and gels.  Over a year ago I discovered several shave forums and realized that the world of wet shaving had evolved considerably since the "old days."  I now enjoy the ritual of my daily shave and the plethora of products to explore.  Due to genetics, I also have the double pleasure of head shaving every day.  As I explain to my friends who have yet to take the plunge, wet shaving is now akin to a zen-like experience for me.  I am thankful for TSN and other forums that have helped to turn wet shaving into an enjoyable hobby.  Enough of this rambling.... I am also retired from Commonwealth service, an alumnus of Penn State, and a former Navy veteran (tin can sailor).  Greetings again!

Brad, welcome to TSN.

I started shaving at 15 and I'm now 68 and it has always been with a mug of soap, brush, and either a DE or Schick Injector, with a straight thrown in for a few years.  I've never experienced canned foam or gel.  It has always been a way of life for me..  My hobby part is trying the different soaps available now.
