My daughter and I went snowshoeing yesterday. We took the dogs of course. They suffer cabin fever as there is so much snow they are confined to the drive way.

We started out the back yard.

In the beginning the dogs are full of energy and run ahead. The bound up and over the snow like a porpoise. It can be ungraceful when they hit a deep patch.

This is me in the woods with Toby.

The dogs quickly figure out to follow in the trail left by a human especially when going up hill.

Kodi snuffing at something in the snow.

The dogs stay in the compacted trail while Amy tries to get a picture.

This is interesting. We are in a valley. The wind has forced the snow to build up between these 2 trees. Never saw this before. That is about 6 feet high. We came across a bunch of these formations.

The dogs (and I are) tired on the way back and allow me to bust trail. as they follow single file.

Me beside the house. Normally I could not look into these windows from the ground.

I like this pic. It is of our footprints as we came out of the woods. The dogs were re-energized to be back home and made their own trails.

It was a fun adventure. We had a great time in the woods. Wore the dogs and I out. My kid was fine. Ahh youth.

Phil, that looks like all of you had a great time.  If I was there, I'd watch you leave, make some hot chocolate, and then sit by the fire while reading a good book. Biggrin

I wish we could have just a couple of days of your snow. I'd love to snowshoe up the street and miss a few days of work. I doubt that my four dachshunds could follow behind, in that much snow! Thanks for sharing.

I especially enjoy it when the dogs step on the tail of the snowshoe.

That's awesome. I don't like snow at all, but that looks fun.
