1. Vie Long 13061 horsehair. I am the original owner. Handle is extremely comfortable and promotes great lather. Similar in shape to the Simpson Eagle. 50mm high. The knot is 23mm set at 55mm. Orange top with a beautiful swirl resin bottom. $30.00  SOLD

2. No name Bakelite handle with Finest Badger knot. The handle is a white, gray and black "splatter" pattern at 58mm high a 21mm knot set at 50mm for an overall size of 108mm. $18.00  SOLD

3. A vintage German Lucite handle brush in perfect no scratch condition. Completely broken in boar knot with a handle height of 50mm a 23mm knot set at 55mm. I am the original owner though brush dates to the 1950s. $35.00

4. A vintage Klenzo brush that has been refurbished by Vladimir Ferdman. He added an Omega boar knot (completely broken in and the same as in the 10066 model with the black ring). The height of the Klenzo is 62mm and the knot is 23mm set at 48mm for an overall height of 110mm. $20.00  SOLD

5. A vintage Klenzo Lucite brush refurbished by Vladimir Ferdman. TGN 2 band finest knot which has creamy tips with backbone so can be used either with a bowl or on the face. My favorite knot. 48mm height with the 21mm knot set at 45mm. Good travel brush as it is large enough to get the job done but small overall. $30.00 SOLD

The last brush is pictured by itself and is from Europe and I think made in Spain. It is real black horn. I forget the maker though well known on the forums. The handle has been conditioned with Neatsfoot oil which is recommended for horn to discourage cracking. This handle is perfect. The knot is a silvertip badger with great flow through and a slight scritch. The handle is 50mm high with a 26mm knot set at 48mm, so an overall height of 98mm. $40.00  SOLD

That Vie Long horsehair brush looked pretty sweet. I'm not totally new to wet shaving (about a year and a half) but I've never heard of a horsehair brush - what's it like?

Pretty good brushes. Have been off the market for decades due to Bacillus anthracis in horses but they are back. These and boar are as much classic natural hair brushes as badger is..Wink
The one shown should be a 13061 with ordered slightly lower loft (usually 57mm). I have a horsehair from Vie Long and like it quite a bit.
