Since the Italy has been so good to me; giving me Proraso and all the soft soaps that I love! Portugal has also given me the lovely Semogue boar brushes, so how can they be wrong about the 444 Aftershave Gel?

I finally got some yesterday and tried it out today!  It is a WONDERFUL product.  I like menthol, even in the winter.  It just seems to keep the blotchy redness down on my cheeks.

I put a pea sized amount of the gel in my hand and added some Floid Vigoroso splash in the cup of my hand with the gel.  I then mixed them together by rubbing my palms together and applied to my face.  I was really expecting some burn from the high menthol, but it was the opposite.  I could feel the cool, and it was very nice.  There really isn't a scent to the gel once it's mixed with aftershave, it just smells like Floid.

Now that the day has worn on, I'm still feeling some slight coolness from this combo, and I can still smell the Floid (which I LOVE).  It really seems to help the scent hang around longer.  This stuff really is a Portuguese Jewel, much like the Semogue brushes.  This gel will always have a spot in my shaving cabinet!

I'm glad you like it! I couldn't figure out how to use it properly. Forget what I did with it now, but I know I don't have it anymore. Enjoy!

When I used 444, I never got anything out of it.  No menthol, nothing.  Glad you like it.

Yes indeed- this is very nice, moisturizing and cooling
One disadvantage is that it leaves my skin somewhat tacky. Wouldn´t want to be without it  Wink

Last year, I tried it on a whim and quickly loved it. I can't always get Floid here but I can combine 444 with drugstore variety Witch Hazel and end up with a great A/S treatment.

I've had 444 in my stash (unopened) for over a year.  It remains unopened, but I'm inspired to open it and try it on my next shave.

It's a great little product.  Same as the OP says, it's easy to add a pea-sized amount to any splash.

Works well with any splash and a great summer product.

I tried it with some Domenica Bay Rum. It was really nice to have a bay rum with some menthol! It also did not affect the scent of the bay rum at all. I ask myself, where has this stuff been my whole life.

Yes, agree, good stuff! A little goes a long way, otherwise your left with a greasy residue. Goes great with Floïd Blue imo.

It took me a few uses to appreciate it and after I realized you don't use it stand alone.  I now keep a tube in my travel kit for when we go camping.

Is this like a concentrated moisturizer? I haven't used it before so I guess I'm headed back over to Phil's Wave1

What I do, and have been doing every day since I received it, is put a pea sized amount of 444 in my palm.  I then pour one of my aftershave splashes into my palm.  I then rub my palms together briskly and apply to my face.  With that amount, I haven't had any issues with greasy or sticky feelings.  So far I've used it with Aqua Velva, Floid Vigorosso, Proraso green, Dominica Bay Rum, and plain drug store witch hazel.  It has made all of them WONDERFUL!

Thanks, I just ordered it along with a couple of A/S splashes.
