What do you guys find to be the best lathering bowl dimensions? Enough room to work the lather without it spilling over. Also what shape do you like the best? A traditional bowl shape or one that has a flat bottom and almost perpendicular walls?

I think 5.25" x 1.75" with a flat bottom is ideal.

4x2.5. Georgetown G20 is fantastic for keeping a brush warm but truely excels at lather creation.

I have DB 1.5, G12, Woodhead scuttle and six shave bowls 2 being symmetrical Pottery bowls and I find the best range is 4-5" with depth between 2-2.5 inches. My brushes are 24-30mm in size

I only have a G12, but I'm very happy with the size. I wouldn't want to go any bigger or any smaller.

Ditto on the above - I think the 4-5" with a 2.5" depth is great!

Any size that fits nicely in your hand...is about at least 2 inches deep and 3 +/- inches in diameter

My favorite bowl is an Ikea stainless steel serving bowl, i think it's a BLANDA, size 5" or something Smile , that fits nicely in my hand.

Yea, any bowl 4-5 inches in diameter and 2.5-3 inches deep was fine for me when I did bowl lather. Found an old bowl at the Salvation Army Store for 50 cents that worked just fine and had a raised pattern on the interior which helped too.
