For quite some time, several years I suppose, I have enjoyed vintage carbon steel DE blades. It's an adventure finding not only the brands that work for me but finding good batches within particular brands. One batch of Don Juan might shave wonderfully and another batch of Don Juan might have been stored in poor conditions and rendered unusable. At their best carbon blades deliver great shaves that are quite a different experience than stainless shaves.

Some of my favorites are Don Juan, Pal Gold Thin, Gillette Blue, Gillette Thin, Marlin, Wonder, Fan, and Hobby Gold.

Would like to hear from others who appreciate carbon blades.

I had a bad experience with some Gillette blues. I really wanted to like them, but they tore my head up. I have a few left. They came with my Gillette Tech that i found at an antique store.

I love using them provided they've been completely sealed up til now. I Use Schick Kronas-"Black Beauties", Schick Krona Thins, Gillette Thins, Gillette Super Blues and I've gotten a great shave from a "Brooks, By Appointment" blade
