here was my sotd with my newly replated Gillette Old Type Bulldog.
I used a fresh polsilver for my inaugural shave and it was unpleasant to say the least. Lots of blood and irritation. I found this strange because I usually have great shaves with a polsilvers. What blade should I try next in this beast? Here is a list of blades I have on hand.

• Gillette Silver Blues
• Gillette Nacet
• Personna Blues
• Persona Reds
• Personna 74
• Voskhod
• Ladas
• Rapira Super Stainless
• Rapira Platinum
• Rapira Swedish super steel
• Sputnik
• Feather
• Bolzano
• Derby

I always start with a Silver Blue, ultra-smooth for me, including in my Bulldog.

Why don't you try your mildest blade in it? Good luck and that is a beautiful razor!

I get good results  from 3 blades  you have in  stock - Voskhod, Ladas and Rapira Swedish Supersteel.

I can just say the same as the above posts.
Remember to use a very shallow angle, blade as flat as possible to the face. With a light touch and you should be OK.
Lovely razor too  Heart  Cheers
