I was down the south coast of NSW at a little place called Mystery Bay, near Narooma, and driving along I see a sign: "Garage Sale Today". So...why not I thought? Nothing much going, though; a few old farming implements, lots of junk...and then...this:

And what did I pay? In Australian dollars: 1. That's right. $1. That's .77 cents US

The first quarter of 1966. Hmm. That's when Australia went from the old units of currency (Imperial) to decimal currency. The TV saturated the Australian public with the changeover: 14 Feb 1966, and the cartoon character was none other than "Dollar Bill". How very appropriate:

This will be my "Dollar Bill" adjustable. Oh, and it was in pristine condition, amazingly. I mean it. The guy who sold it told me he used it three or four times only, but he'd cut himself, he said. And I thought farmers were supposed to be good with their hands Smile

It's like Christmas when that happens, isn't it? Congrats on the Fat Boy score. Cool.

Shaun, that's a beauty. Does it give you a good shave? What blades are you loading it with?

I've not bought any yet but I see them popping up on various sites lately. Just bought a box of Lab Blues yesterday from Phil when ordering my P-Red. Thankfully, blades don't take up much space; SWMBO doesn't realize how many I really have!

I had this conversation with my wife some months back. I told her, i won't mention how many shoes and purses you think you need, and you won't mention how many razors and brushes I'll ever have She simply said, i never would! God, i love her!
