A regular blue tip will probably shave identical and only run you $30 or so.

I don't even know what the difference is between the rocket and the regular blue tip. I have one and it's very mild. I really like it

The rocket is British, maybe a bit heavier and has the gap near the blue tip. It is more collectible, but that's about it.

There may also be British Blue tips that aren't Rockets, I'm not 100% sure. I know there is a red tip variation non-rocket.

Yes Bruce there are the British non-Rocket variants in both the Red Tip and the Blue Tip:

The British Gillette Rocket Blue Tip works like any other Rocket....it may shave the same as a regular Blue Tip but has the Rocket opening and closing mechanism so is significantly different.
