I've recently had this 1928 Big Fellow re plated in silver.

The condition when I bought it was poor, down to brass with only 5% silver left on it and the case.
I've put a photo of before, on as well the newly silver plated razor.
Alpha Electro platers did the work for me, they're in my local town Sheffield UK.
I popped the lining of the case out before taking it in for the work to be done.
The work was done quickly, I took the set in on Monday morning and collected it Wednesday afternoon !

Looks great!

How did you transform the gold logo on the inner lining to silver?

The razor looks to be Gold in the original photo but it's always been Silver from new.
The 'Gold' on the razor is Brass !
I wanted a Gold razor and was surprised to find it originally Silver, so Silver for the re plate it was  Cheers

Stunning job, congratulations on a fine piece brought back. That extra effort to replate the case as well is amazing!

That looks great!  I have a beat up Big Fellow with a cracked tube that comes apart into four pieces, still shaves like a beast though.  One of these days I'll get it all fixed up and replated, maybe.

That is a really nice replate.  Wonder how the shave will compare to previously?

That does seem to be a very common problem with razor pictures - quality is poor with, sometimes, bad focus and lighting hinted at a completely different color than the original.  I've gotten to the point where I'll ask the poster specifically what the color/finish is, just to be sure.

Great job on the plating.  Now you have an heirloom quality piece with the case!
