I have a Schick Injector (type E, gold coloured with the amber handle). I really love it, but would love to find a heavier Injector (heavier handle, metal handle...). What would you suggest? Any way to possibly modify a Schick Injector head to receive any handle (that would be pretty cool if the balance is right)? Thanks all!

Try a Schick type A, B, C, D, or F, which have metal handles. Some people have modified them but IMO it's more trouble than it's worth. Here is an example of a custom handle injector: http://shavenook.com/thread-schick-injec...e-possible

Or, you could read our page on Schick Injectors http://shavenook.com/misc.php?page=schick-injectors

Yea, I dont know if I would enjoy a injector with a heavy handle. They are so effective as-is, any more weight would make them harder to maneuver. I use a light touch with my type E, but will "lean in" more with my adjustable. Either one will bite with the right pressure, just one more easily than the other. That said I am happy with having to lightly drag rather than constantly lift an injector as I shave.

I agree.

If you want an injector with a little more wait then you could also try a PAL adjustable injector.  It's stainless steel and a great shaver.  I kept my Schick adjustable over the PAL do to liking a lighter weight on injectors.

Good advice, thanks guys. I do enjoy the shave my Schick Injector gives, so why mess with it?! Just ordered four more packs of blades Smile

Actually, the Paul Revere Schick is a heavier handle than most and is one of my favorites!

As far as I know, PAL adjustable is all metal, heavier and nice looking. Could be very aggressive though, especially at "high".

That I think is the heaviest, there was also a Type E that had a metal handle and was gold plated that might be a bit heavier than the bakelite handle models.

You're probably referring to the G2 & G3 Christmas versions as seen on this page:

Are these the ones you're referring to?

Yup these are the 1946-47 models (G's). The "D" is all metal and the first injector razor to use a separate injector blade loader. And the F is all metal too.More or less they all weigh in around the 32 gm. mark. .

My mistake, I should have done my homework.
