Since I moved to Tampa almost 8 months ago, I've been going to a Hispanic barbershop. These guys actually know how to fade, listen when you say not to take too much off the top, they don't butcher my sideburns, they know how to line up, and they are great at holding conversations in both English and Spanish. Every time I've let a female cut my hair, she messed it up. She either didn't fade it, messed up my hairline, cut my sideburns uneven, and just wanted to gossip. I even had one lady fade one side of my hair at a #3 and then the other side a #4. I stormed out of there without paying and told her she would never get another dime from me again. Now I know every female haircutter isn't like that, but I struck out every time.

Three years for the salon, and usually the same barber. We have around seven Turkish barbers here, another one just opened. I enjoy a splash of Limon Kolonya and the "Flame" to my ears....

I would like to find someone is my area that burns the hairs off the ears.  I watched a travel show about Turkey where the barber performed the feat after he shaved the travel guide--looks very effective..

20 years with my barber. He is 80, but he still cuts my hair, at his house. He retired and sold his shop about 10 years ago. He gave me my first straight razor and strop, too! A great old fellow!

I have been cutting my own hair (less and less each year) since 1997. Nothing to it!  Eusa_whistle

Been going to the same barber for around three years since moving to Boston. Lucked out and found someone decent on my first try. I will be relocating to the DC area and dread starting my search all over again. Anyone with suggestions (preferably under $40/cut) would be most welcome.

23 years. The barbershop I visit is run by a guy who will retire in a few years and his son (and his son's fiancee). So I can sleep peacefull in the knowledge that I won't have to look for a new barber. I would hate having to do that.

The bad news is that the V.A.T. on haircuts in The Netherlands will go up by 40% as of next january first. Next year I willhave to pay € 45,00 for a haircut!

Another personal barber here. I've been shaving my head for about 13 years now. I've let it grow out enough for a haircut twice in that time. Once went to my ex who owned a salon and the other time to supercuts. I prefer saving the money and going with the bald theme. Plus, my genetic widows peak hairline has had me looking like I was going bald since I was 12 years old, so it suits me to embrace the shine.

The woman that cuts my hair has been at the same place for 7 years and I started going to her 2 months after she started... So I have been to her for almost 7 years.

I have been a patron of only one barber in the last 43 (forty-three) years.
I temper the preceding statement by noting that the last time that I visited that barber was in the autumn of 1972.
(I retain today what many would regard as a full head of hair.)

My barber is myself and I've been buzz cutting my hair for probably 15 years now. It's cost me $22 for all those hair cuts and the clippers are still going strong.

Yankee frugality. :-)

I don't miss traveling to the barber.

My wife is a hairstylist and has been cutting my hair for 8 years. Fortunately I don't have to go to her salon because we have a barber chair in our master bath.
