the ebay razor I won the other day came in the mail this afternoon. I took it out of its box, unwrapped the tissue paper, and noticed it still had a blade loaded (I hate it when people send razors that still have the blade in the razor). Upon removing the head, I noticed that it had a gillette blue and a wilkinson DE blade. I wonder if the old owner of the razor was shaving with the razor like that?! I wonder how it felt?!

That's better than what I got today. I won a razor off eBay and the seller shipped it in an envelope. One end of the razor had punctured the shipping envelope and was hanging out of the envelope. The seller hadn't even taken it apart (3 piece razor).

in better news, though, I also got the razor I bought from Obie and was smiling from ear to ear... Biggrin

Fantastic. I have a DE86 Octagonal on the way from Obie as well. I hope it gets here tomorrow so I'll have something to shave with. The Joris tore me up this morning. I need something uber mild.

And the original twin blade razor was created. Biggrin

maybe he thought that was what "double edge" was.

on a side note, when i was out on sunday looking for razors, i came across a few with blades in, when i told the owner, he was appalled. took them out and thru them out. last thing the used stores want it someone (or themselves) slicing off a finger in their store.

I bought a razor once that when it arrived it had huge clumps of hair in it still.. I was quite suspicious that there was blood under the blade as well.

Actually... now that I think about it, the razor was even assembled in a crazy fashion...

top cap from razor A
bottom plate from razor A
blade
bottom plate from razor B
handle from razor C

Yes... I was astonished to find under the hair and ew factors that there were in fact two bottom plates with the blade placed between the two plates....

I'm glad to hear he threw the blades away. I see this practice very commonly and mention it to the person showing me the razors and they don't seem to ever be concerned about a rusty blade sitting in the razor just waiting to lead to a lawsuit.

I picked up a schick krona a few weeks ago. it was billed as having the two original blades in the dispenser. when I got it it had a Wilkinson sword in the razor itself and one blade in the throw away compartment of the dispenser.

I've had quite a few razors come in the mail with blades in them. in fact, I think most of the injectors I've bought off ebay have come loaded with a blade, although I will at least say that the injector blades are harder to remove than the standard DE razor if you don't have the blade loader still.
