I have so far only been straight shaving for 6 months. DE and SE shaving long before that. The straight game is going really well, very relaxing (as much as it can be). I have had very little blood shed a few bits here and there but it's going well. Thought I would share a pic of my current line up. [Image: UurNDcl.jpg]

Excellent blades, I know you are getting some great shaves. I just bought a straight to replace my old one. Can't wait to get back to a good straight razor shave.

True, but I don't really know the best places to get one at a reasonable price, any suggestions?

Those blades are way better than what many of us started with. You are fortunate!

I would believe that for a Kamisori, watching the for sale or trade add here over time will bring one up for you. Too many complexities for going online for one till you really know what is what.
Enjoy your life more and be welcome here!

I'm interested in the Boker elite as well, let me know how it shaves if you could please. That filarmonica is a beauty, enjoy.

Ultra Nova,

The Elite is a beautiful razor. It has a fantastic weight to it, heavier than the norm. I have very thick and coarse stubble paired with semi sensitive skin can be a nightmare but the Elite just doesn't cause me ounce of irritation. Really enjoy using it.

I've probably used more straights than you have and though I am using the Boker Silver Steel 6/8  and not the Elite my hard beard and shaving experience mirrors yours. Smooth, tough stubble murdering shaves that are excellent considering the blades are relatively inexpensive. Your comment makes me think there is something to these new Bokers.

It Would be hard for me to comment as I haven't tried any other Bokers. All I can say is that the Elite is fantastic. There is a guy on UK forums called UKRob and he puts the best edges on a straight.
