Can anyone recommend a good paddle strop at a reasonable price?

Mike, I concur with Johnny. The SRD paddle strop will serve you well, and it is reasonably priced.

As an alternative, you might consider a paddle from Stropman.com.  I have two of these simple & inexpensive paddle strops; both with napped leather one side and smooth on the other.  These are no frills paddles.  I keep one of the smaller version (Stropmans Large paddle) in my honing kit and the Jumbo is my travel strop.  Both are pasted on the napped side.

Another option is the modular paddle strops from Rasurpur

I have tried all panels and was very pleased with them, a lot op members on the dutch shaving forum bought one and couldn't be happier. (not to say the other ones mentioned are less good mind you). It was developed by one of the head engineers and sales manager of Thiers Issard btw.

This is a very good, under the radar strop.  (customer service is a little spotty from what I understand)

Another fan of Straight Razor Designs' modular paddle here. Best bang for the buck if you're in the US. Craftsmanship is impeccable, and the wide range of replacement strips - along with various spray bottled abrasives - makes it the most versatile strop I know. Straight Razor Designs - the full strop line have reviewed the strop, too, you can use the descriptions of the leathers as an indication how their paddle counterparts will perform.

Good choice, keep us updated on the shipping, they've gotten some negative pub lately.
