Hi Everyone,

Not an important topic here, but I was wondering how many people have actually met a fellow wet shaver in the wild? Meaning you meet someone and small talk ensues and somehow the topic comes up (not that I lead with shaving talk, but occasionally it does come up).

I know it probably doesn’t happen often, but I assume at least a few have had it happen. Given that I have a lot of passion for the hobby, I’ll need to make sure that I curb my enthusiasm a bit and not come on too strong when I finally do meet a fellow wet shaver in person... Biggrin

I know TSN has a few fellow Wisconsinites, but I’ve yet to run into any of them at Wal-Mart.

Been searching myself Greg. I work in patient care and occasionally take a chance at discovery when I detect a familiar aftershave. However its mostly followed by the response of an electric or disposable razor.

My conversation the other day with my neighbor ended with me finding out that he uses a Bic single blade, while in the shower, with no mirror. He also says the older the Bic the better. I was filled with deep sadness.

That would be the place.  Just let me know when you are going to be there so we know at least two wet shavers are there. Smile

I just so happened to get on to the topic with a new work colleague the other day. He's quite new to it all but has already got the bug. He has a Japanese heritage so has a new kamsori and I helped him find a really nice Wade and Butcher straight. He wanted a really nice Sandalwood soap so got him to buy some CRSW Select.

A couple of my daughter's friends' fathers are traditional wet shavers. My wife was the one who found out, actually. The ladies know she makes soap, so they've bought some for their husbands. We gave some test soaps to a neighbor. Apparently they work well with a paint brush, because that's what he used to lather them. Smile

The majority of the UK is a wet shaver, obviously beards and a few days growth is in fashion but when they so shave it is generally by a wet shave. Dry shavers are not in the majority. If you mean traditional brush and soap shaving or a using a DE? Only a few. However, what is traditional shaving when guys use a Feather disposable straight with shaving gel?

I work with 2. We all started before coming to work where were at. So every other day someone is talking about a new soap or aftershave. Certainly makes work more enjoyable.

Two no less. Wow, I'm guessing thats not the norm. I've had a bit of success getting people at work to give it a try, but given that the current look is to let your beard get wildly out of control, thats what most of them do.

well, I was introduced to wet shaving by a personal friend of mine.  we were talking about shaving 1 day and I was complaining about how sensitive my skin is and how dry it can get, and he mentioned wet shaving to me.

in addition to that, my buddy Dan has been wet shaving for some years now....

At work I know of at least two other guys that use straights and three or four that use DE razors.
I also have met up with James of Wolfman razors a couple of times. Guess what he uses  Winky.

My Wife uses a DE sometimes.

Wow, thats kind of crazy. I'd spend most of my day talking razors, soaps and brushes..maybe its a good thing I don't have that.
