Periodically I check the Griest Shaving website to see if there are any new products being offered, I noticed a week ago that there was a new model of stainless steel razor handle, the GS2. It looks decent, similar to the GS1 he had from a couple years ago with different knurling and an extra indent ring near the top of the handle to accompany the one near the bottom of the handle.
There are three sizes: 3 inches, 3.5 inches, and 4 inches. I ordered the 3 inch one because I typically prefer shorter handles, my sweet spot is around 80 mm. Anyway, my handle arrived today and it looks and feels nice, I measured it just below 3 inches, it is 75mm. I will post pictures of the handle next to a handle from the Gillette fat handle tech (which I measured at 77mm).
The handle fits all the heads I have and has a matte finish to it, more of an industrial look to it (plenty of small flaws here and there, again this is similar to the GS1 model from a couple years ago which I no longer have). I did notice a few little rust marks in the indent rings that I cleaned off, hope this won't be a problem (perhaps it was a bit moist in the package, took about a week to arrive, maybe this caused some rust), I will keep an eye on this and see if more appears (I dry my handles and heads pretty well after a shave so this shouldn't be a problem, but it is something to note).
The price for mine was $32 shipped, I think they go up in price as the length gets longer. The grip is actually quite nice, the spiral knurl has a nice texture to it, feels similar to rubbing blue jeans I think, it is definitely not slippery.
Here are the pictures, the head that I attached to the GS1 is the WR1-SB from Wolfman Razors:

I really like the spiral looks very grippy without a very aggressive pattern.

Knowing Justine's work is excellent ordered the 4" handle. Who knows it might be another 3 years before he makes more. I don't have enough heads to go around. What a nice dilemma to be in.

This is an excellent way to word it, your fingers won't feel anything annoying in the knurling (like pointy or sharp things), but the grip is definitely there.

I polished it up with a dremel with the cloth wheel and some polishing compound, shined up pretty decent, matches the heads I have better this way. If I had any Above the Tie or Satin heads then I would have left it, but I don't so I decided to have it match the heads more by polishing.

These are nice. His original handle was one of the best balanced of the lot.

Thanks Erik for the write up and thanks everyone who has ordered. I may have to offer a polished version for those that want to pair it with a shiny head.

My favorite look is a GS2 handle paired with a DLC coated head. Reminds of military grade equipment and the Seiko pilots watch. The matte stainless and black look so good together.
