I love my Berkely 46. I am thinking about the Wee Scot. Any reviews from owners out there? It sounds like a great face latherer and travel brush. Does it hold as much lather as the 46? Thanks, Charlie.

The Wee Scot is an excellent little brush. It was my first Simpson and is the only safe (never sell) small (really small) brush in my collection. It works incredibly well on MWF.

There are some great write ups here; http://shavenook.com/thread-the-wee-scot--15898  and here http://shavenook.com/thread-review-simpsons-wee-scot

I don't have a 46 for comparison, but the Wee Scot holds a shockingly large amount of lather. Mine is a tad scritchy (which I don't mind). Indeed is great for travel and excels at facing lathering.

It's a great little travel brush. I carry mine in a small prescription bottle with holes drilled in it (the bottle, not the brush)   Biggrin

Too much scritch for me. Just traveled with a Savile Row 3120 Silvertip and it was pure luxury.

I have the Berkley and the Wee Scot and they are both pretty close IMHO. I have to say though, that little Wee Scot has completely won my heart. It was a bit scritchy at first but now that she is broken in I reach for her at least twice a week. That thing is amazing at how much lather it holds, no joke, three passes easy with more to spare. There is a video on YouTube where a guy did 6 passes. The Berkley is a great brush too buy I would say buy the Wee Scot if your considering it at all, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Not only do I travel with mine (In one of those Rx Bottles), I use it at home in my regular rotation.  Just a great little brush and a joy to use.

Just like many others, when traveling, I take my Wee Scot. (Never had a 46, so this is a one-sided view) Also, like some others, I use an old medicine bottle (holes have been since drilled into the top cap) to enclose it. Lathers amazingly for such a pipsqueak. I travel quite a bit and unless I am gone for over a week, my shaving needs are met fully with the Wee Scot.

I love my Wee Scot.  For such a tiny brush it sure packs a punch.  It can hold it's own with the big brushes.

It definitely can hold quite a bit of lather, but I just found it a tad too small to use, unfortunately.

One of these times I'll look to acquire a Wee Scot, but for now I'll enjoy my Omega Bambino and Mixed Midget.

I loved my Wee Scott. I also traveled with it in a prescription bottle. The Wee Scptt made me a Simpson fan. I used the brush until the Arthritis in my hands became too painful to hold a small brush. I really do miss that brush. It is cheap enough to try. It is universally loved.

..... any differences between the Mighty Midget and the Wee Scot?

...........in other words, is one a markedly better performer than the other?

Wee Scott =  14mm, badger, twice the price

Mighty Midget = 20mm boar/badger mix; a bit larger brush

Both have different characteristics, but are fine brushes.

I tried the Wee Scot on many occasions (I've bought 4 over the years). It is a lovely brush, but just too small for me. I really wanted it to work for me, but it never has.

The Omega Mighty Midget, on the other hand is amazing. It can carry enough lather for several passes, and it is very cheap, so it's a brush that has stuck in my rotation.

For travel, I just prefer to use a synthetic. No worries about wet hair and they are all economical and feel great on the face.

Hi Iam planning a tip and want to continue wet shaving while I am away. I looked at the Wee Scot but ordered the Simpsons Case Shaving Brush in Best Badger. Hope I did not make a mistake. How does the Wee Scot compare to the Best Badger ?   Anyone have any experience with either one? Thanks.

The Case is a good travel brush. It has Best Badger hair just like the Wee Scot - just more of it. It is a better option than the Scot, in my opinion.
