Got a question for you folks that have (or had) the Simpson Chubby 2 in the LE 2 band silvertip: on the handle, does it say "Silvertip", or "Super Badger"? I just received mine, and it says "Super Badger", rather than "Silvertip" like what is photographed on the Simpson website. I emailed Mark at Simpson to enquire, but thought I'd pose the question here whilst awaiting his reply. The knot looks like the 2 band. But in all honesty, the handle just looks like it was an old one - the lettering is quite faded as well.  I'm not sure if I have a valid concern or not, but it sure was a lot of $$$.  Just curious.

First off, that is a gorgeous brush. You are going to love it.
Mine says Silvertip, but I believe the terms are synonymous. I am sure there are members who know exactly the differences, if any.

You can see in my older CH1 2 band, it says Super Badger. Note that the letters are not as black.

Maybe Mark will chime in here and explain.

That must be new old stock. 2 band brushes used to say "Super Badger". The new brushes say "SiLVERTiP".
A side note your sticker says "Made in England" the new sticker says" Hand Made Great Britain"

The hair is the same but its just the cosmetics of the label that are different. It looks like a beautiful brush, Congratulations!

My Chubby 2 two band contains the current generation silvertip badger and it came engraved with "Super Badger" and like you I emailed Mark regarding this as well, he admits it sometimes happens and that's about it... Mine has the new sticker as well as you can see below.

Its a wonderful performing and feeling brush, enjoy yours!

Great looking brush.  I am sure you will love it.  I have always thought the two name were interchangeable so no worries IMO.  Enjoy your Chubby.

Indeed they are.  I just got a reply from Mark @ Simpson, and he said that they use both handles, it just depends on the engraver at the time.  So I shall be using this brush for the first time in just a few hours.

Thanks for all the responses!
