Has anyone tried the new Supermax Titanium blades? Are they any good?

Hi Dave,

I have not tried them but they are sold by razorbladesandmore.com and are made in India. Ten blades for $4 + shipping seems like a reasonable price.

I've tried them and found them to be moderately good, pretty much equal to Personna Red, Astra Superior Platinum, or Treet DuraSharp Stainless.

I like the Supermax in its different "models". I prefer Astra SP's and Personna Lab or Personna Med blades.

Thanks guys. If they're like the Personna Reds I think I'll pick some of them up and give them a try myself.

Yes, I've been considering those too. Are these the Red ones I hear so much about?

If a good sharp, smooth blade is a comparison for the Titanium coating,

then I would say they *should* do well...

I like Bolzano blades, and they too use a Titanium coating.

I haven't tried them. Every blade I've tried recently is a very distance second to my favourite and difficult to source Super Iridiums.

Dave, I've tried both the Red's, and the Blue Personna's and they both worked great for me. They are both platinum blades and I couldn't tell there was much of a difference between the two.

Supermax has had a Titanium coated stainless steel blade (which all blade have a steel base for cost purposes) called the Sunrise. I have a sinking suspicion that this is a re-badged blade.

Test #13 Supermax Super Stainless Sunrise
Supermax Super Stainless Sunrise is a stainless steel blade coated with Titanium for hard edge. This blade is the top of the Supermax line of blades. This blade is manufactured by Vidyut Metallics Pvt. Ltd. in India.

I saw this blade on the internet but couldn't figure out who carries it.

I went ahead and got SuperMax Super Platinum blades based on your chart. I tested several of the blades you tested and I got almost identical results so I'm pretty confident I'll like the Super Platinums. Biggrin

I can't tell much difference in any Supermax, Titanium or Platinum, that I use. Another safe choice are Wilkinson Sword blades. I have found them and any Personna to work for me in any DE razor with comfort.

That's what I'm looking for; a safe blade. I've tried some brand new blades and they started out pulling hairs and my end result shave wasn't too good. I've tried others that lasted 2 shaves before the pulling started and some that lasted 3. I can't stand that sensation so I'm looking for a blade that will give me 3+ good shaves without me feeling it pull the beard.

I've had really good luck with Personna's, Lord Platinums, and Treet Classics.

Razor Blades and More.I read somewhere that the Tiger Super Platinum is Super-Max's other premium blade.

I wound up ordering the Super Platinums. I'm glad to hear you like them! I'll be interested to hear what you think about the Titaniums. If they are really good I might order them too.
