My Latest Rubberset 400-4 Restore. Kept this one in satin finish and didn't try to sand all the character out. I just put it under my wire brush wheel and decided to be content. I used thread seal tape around the metal cup that holds the plisson knot and it fit snug inside the rubberset collar. I like this solution because it is not permanent but is still secure. Since the metal cup sits inside the collar it does shorten the loft a little bit which should help the brush excel as a face lather.

Very nice.  The first Rubberset 400 restore I've seen with the Plisson synthetic.  The biggest issue with that knot for some is lack of backbone, so the lower loft should help.

I am sure I am not the first to attempt this. I was unsure of how it would look visually with the small knot but I rather like the way it turned out. As for the performance it is top notch and absolutely  perfect for face lathering.

That is awesome. I love my plisson, but the handle has recently started to chip, so I will probably start scouring the antique shops for an old handle to re-purpose as you have here. Looks great!
