Hey all,

I am interested in getting myself a really nice strop and as I live in the UK I have found this Company. I have done some small research and Westholme Strops is owned by an artisan strop maker called Alister I believe. Some of his work looks amazing and there are great reviews dotted around.

Have any of you guys brought strops from here? And any idea on price for something like the strop below?

Very nice!

I bought a 3" cordovan with flax linen strop (with D-rings, not the nubuck handles you posted) from Alastair last year and I love it.
Cost depends a LOT on the size and materials used but I would estimate anywhere between £100 to £150 is fairly accurate.
Alastair is a true gent to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

If you want a really nice strop you could also check out Neil Miller who also lives in the UK for handmade strops. I have one of his excellent quality Shell Cordovan and English linen strops. Sorry no experience with the Westholme Strops other than reading the good reviews like you.

I just bought a 2.5 inch cordovan with barber's ends from Alastair a few weeks ago.  Should be arriving Monday, but it looks snazzy from the photos.  As far as I know, he only does business through Facebook messaging, which is how I got everything done.  Cost was $190 USD for the strop before shipping.

I have made contact with Alastair and I have made the decision to buy a strop from him.

He seems like a great guy, really good communication and so I save on postage he is going to hand deliver as we live close.

Top service, should take a couple of weeks to make the strop so I will report back when it arrives.

What is meant by "barber's ends"?

Without handles Johnny, like Kanayamas for instance.

That would be just a plain flat end correct?  No D-Rings?  Like this:

That's the exact strop that showed up for me yesterday!

First time with cordovan, the fit and finish are crazy good, but the feel and weight is going to take some getting used to.  Very, very light leather, I'm excited to see how it breaks in.  Tough to tell on the images, but this strop is LOOOOONG.  I need to get used to holding it at the actual tabs.

You have to contact him on his Facebook page. He rarely has a strop on eBay.

Evnpar has already addressed your inquiry but I would like to add I have used mine a lot now and I really enjoy it and the craftmanship is immpecable. I actually got a copy of the strop that I put in the first post because I loved it so much and it didn't disappoint.

Does anyone else see the striking resemblance to a Scrupleworks strop? The flax linen looks identical, and his handles look basically the same as well. I'm curious about that. Really nice looking strop though. I'm not suggesting anything it just weird how much it reminds me of Scrupleworks.
