This is the set that started it all, this fun shaving adventure I'm now on. The beautiful near mint Gillette super slim adjustable razor (Black Beauty Long W2, 1972) and the brush(?) were left for the taking in the mail area of my condo building.  A common way to recycle unwanted items in my building.  I had the razor and brush for about a year before I decided to get blades and give it a try. My first attempt was not a pretty site. I looked like I  had barely survived a knife fight. Blood everywhere.  Luckily with the help of video's from this (my favorite) and other shaving sites I've gotten much better.  Still a little blood now and then, but I attribute this to the face I'm working with.  I'm now a huge wet shave and vintage Gillette fan with a fair collection of the same, the Black Beauty being one of my favorites.  I'll post more about my collection later if this goes well. This is the first picture I've tried to post - so here goes.

Not yet. I've just started to look at brushes.

I started slowly as well using an Omega boar brush and a puck of Lightfoot's Pine soap for a year or two before finally completing the set with a Fat Boy. Naturally after buying the Fat Boy I found my father's T.V. Special Super Speed and Schick Krona and right after that my grandfather's SS.
