If any of you have tried them both, would appreciate your thoughts.

Which "platinums" are being referred to?  The blacks?

If it's between GSB and 7 O'Clock Black, I'd definitely give it to the Blacks also. They seem smoother and hold an edge slightly longer for me.

I compared them twice.  They are close but I prefer the GSBs which seem to cut a tad better while being equally smooth.  The fact that the latter are cheaper is great also, so no contest for me.

I like the Silver Blues better. They just seem more smooth, but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me

I got up to eight shaves from Gillette Platinum, which is the standard against match the rest of blades as I heard at foroafeitado. Silver it isn't the same blade. It will last less, and it isn't as smooth, but has half the price, at least in my country and the edge is as good as most Gillette show to us . GP, nonetheless, is the best Gillette blade from Saint Petersburg according with the reviews I have read, but pretty expensive. These are just opinions, of course.

Platinium is one of favorite . HoweverGP are expensive and only few carry. You may want to consider Kai blades . Similar performance and smooth and same price range .

silver blues are my daily driver, but i prefer the platinums in the blue box. they seem both sharper and smoother than the silver blues to me. i wish they were available for a decent price in quantity =\

Gillette 'Platinum' > Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum (blue) > Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum (black) > Gillette 7 o'clock Sharpedge (yellow), in order of preference for me. Silver blues are a LONG way away from those four, way worse for me, giving lots of irritation. Cheers

Platinum for me. When I was experimenting with he's two for some reason I bought plenty of the Silver Blue, but now I believe the Platinum was the one that had the advantage. I will report back on my next shave. These will be used in a 2013 R41 BTW.

Now that I've done more comparisons, I personally find 7 O'Clock Blue>=GSB (two are close)=Nacet>Platinum>7 O'clock Black.  But all are excellent and quite close except for the Blacks which I find to be a tad rougher than the Russian blades.

To me they are almost both on an equal playing field . If I had to choose though I would go with the silver blues. For me they give a little smoother shave.

I prefer the Silver Blues, but the blacks are a close second.  The blues are good blades, but not as long lasting for me as the other two.
