Gentlemen,

My new novel, Will Music, was published today. Will's Music, by Obie Yadgar, is a gentle and sentimental love story set in the world of radio and dance, and set in San Francisco. I published this book myself several years ago. Early last year, Figlo Press, a traditional publisher, read the book, loved it and asked to publish it. So here it is:

Thanks,
Obie Yadgar

Big congratulations!!!!  I've spent the last 25+ years in the seemingly parallel yet equally difficult music business. That is quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud!

Gentlemen,

Thank you for the kind words.

Primo, there was no opportunity in the book to bring up wet shaving. In my second novel, which the publisher already has, I do create a relevant wet shaving scene. I hope the publisher will like the second novel, too.

Obie is a wonderful writer. I had the pleasure of reading a previous book, "Obie's Opus," a book of stories and anecdotes from the world of classical music. It was a delightful read for anyone who loves the symphony, as I do. Obie was a U.S. Army combat correspondent in Vietnam at the same time that I was serving as a medic. He's had an impressive career on the radio, hosting jazz and classical programs, while writing for magazines, newspapers, and radio. I can't wait to read his new book, "Will's Music."

More importantly, I've considered Obie my "internet mentor" and friend, while I ventured into the world of straight razor shaving. He was kind enough to sell me one of my favorite razors, a custom Robert Williams, and honed the razor to the smoothest edge imaginable. Obie has a delightful serious of interviews with shaving legends called "Obie's Conversations," on SRP.

Congratulations, my friend.

Richard, my dear friend, how kind of you for all the good words. Thank you.
It has been a long and satisfying writing and radio career, with the usual ups and downs, of course.
Will's Music took me a year to write, writing seven days a week, followed by several drafts. I loved writing it, and I hope all that comes through in the story. I've always been a sucker for a good love story and Will's Music turned out the way I wanted it. So I'm happy.
Stay well,
Obie
