Looking to trade an unused, boxed Thater 4292/4 2 band in genuine horn for an M&F 3XL or Simpson 2-band Chubby 2 or Tulip 3.  Knot is 24 x 55.  Total height 105mm. Horn handle is unmarked but comes with a Thater gold "coin" that can be attached to the bottom. I am the original owner.  This is an older model with light tan/caramel pattern horn.  Much nicer (IMHO) than the current crop which is almost solid black horn.

Brush has been boxed since I received it from SRD.  Has never been wet or tested in any way.

A beautiful brush with an amazing looking handle. How does this Thater two band compare with a Rooney two band in bristle softness and backbone?

I have only owned the current crop pf Rooney (not the old gel tips). Thater tips are softer.  In fact, pillow soft.  I would dare say they are the softest badger I've ever used.  Backbone is above average but not outstanding.  The 2-band backbone is certainly less than Simpson & M&F...but certainly more than the average brush and not at all "floppy".
