What does it smell like? Is the shaving stick tallow-based or glycerin?

It's very cheap and lots of people seem to like it.

It is a great scent at least to me. The scent is the Speick plant. Jon, let me dig through my sample stash and if I can find an AS Sample I'll send it to you. It's my favorite product.

As Dave said, it's the Speick plant plus a bit of lavender.

Jon, I'm fairly intolerant of most scents, especially if they are strong. I can only refer to the soap... it just smells really good even when it's fresh and strong.

OK, I'll call it masculine floral.

To me, there is an earthy spiciness to the scent. Almost similar to patchouly, with some lavender, and citrus. The valerian spikenard is what gives it the earthiness, I think.

I absolutley love the scent of it - and the shave stick is so good, especially for the price!

The aftershave smells differently than the shave stick, though.

If awesome had a scent, Speick would be it. Kind of peppery. The AS splash and balm are fantastic.

What would you guys compare the scent too? Does it smell like some other type of brand of shaving product?

About as close as I can describe as well. Very refreshing scent - and of course one of the best healing ASs around.

I couldn't agree more with the earthy spiciness as a scent description. I couldn't put into words but that sums it up perfectly

Wow! Thanks, Dave. Very generous of you. I didn't know Speick offered samples.

So basically it's a spicy lavender?

Speick does not, Dave does. Dave is, "the man".

Speick really doesn't smell distinct or unique, it smells like something you've smelled before. I didn't care for it and would put it in the same scent category as everything at the grocery store or pharmacy; however at a premium price.

You're fortunate to be getting a sample.

Jon I don't have any of the samples left of the AS and don't have any of the little AS bottles to send it in. I do have some cream pots so I can send you a sample of that. Send me a PM with your address and I'll get it out to you

Jon, I don't know where you're located, but if it is in the CONUS buy a bottle and if you don't like it, I will buy it from you.
