Brings the verse of a song to mind.

How come I never see anyone wearing or having a PFD on Paddleboards?  Even in Canada, I've never seen anyone use them.  Heck, even our Dog wears one when we are on the water.

We canoe and kayak and they are mandatory to have on board, but we always wear them.

PFD

Unlike surfboards, SUPs are considered nautical vessels like kayaks or canoes. So, when you ride one in Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard requires that you have a PFD with you. You don't have to actually wear it, but it is to your benefit and safety if you do.

Bruce -in California you have to have a PFD only while in the harbor. Once you get into the open ocean, you are not required to have one.  For what it is worth, I use one of the fanny pack type PFD's because it does not get in the way and, it is a place for me to store my car keys.

Thanks Phil. And glad to see you use one.

I never understood having one on board and not wearing it. Does you no good sitting in the boat or on the board if you are in the water injured.

Back to Neil....cool to see him out on the water. We haven't gotten into SUP yet, but am sure we will one day
