I may be mistaken, in fact its quite likely, but I believe that I might have read somewhere that the products were reformulated sometime in the 1990s.

I think that they were reformulated. I used them in college and they are quite different now based on a small sample set that I received.... but so is my nose so take that with a grain of salt.
There is now a Royall Vetiver in addition.
The musk is a very earthy and different scent. I think they used to be called "all purpose lotions" and I used them as colognes but have never tried them as aftershaves. I should dig them out and give them a shot again.
Very nice scents. Unobtrusive and they last fairly well on my skin.

I don't know if the Royall Lime I used was "vintage" but I liked it. I found that the Royall Lime gave a bit more sting than my typical alcohol based aftershave. The scent was nice, but like most citrus scents it didn't last too long. I did use it as both an aftershave and cologne.
The Musk and Vetiver scents both get positive reviews and I intend on picking those up next to try out.
