Fellas, I just got this pretty nice (to me) Ever-Ready 150 boar brush.  I am not too familiar with boar.  In fact it's my first.  My question is should I use this knot?  Doesn't looks like it was used very much.  The hairs have not split so it doesn't appear "broken in".  If the brush is kaput I will put a new knot.   Thanks for helping me out Nook!!!    Here is a pic:

I'd say, give it a try.  You'll soon find out if the knot is any good.  I've had some that worked really well and I still use them as is.  I've also had a few that started shedding and just got worse as the knot was rotted away.  Doesn't cost you anything to give it a try.

Ok guys, I did have a chance to use the brush a few times.  The brush does not shead but it takes a whole lot longer to create a nice lather compared to my badger brush.  It does need more time to break in.   I did notice that some of the hairs are starting to split meaning the breaking in process has begun.

I will keep working on the brush and report in.  Thanks for the advice fellas!!

Had another shave this morning and the brush performance was steller!!!  It's becoming easier to create a nice rich lather.  I guess I am doing something right.lol  Also, it may replace my badger all together!  I am enjoying the awesome backbone that this boar hair brush has.  Might have to be a badger to boar convert!

I added some pics of the progress I am having with the Ever-Ready 150.

After 30 more seconds I ended up with this.  Could have been even more but I was satisfied.  I used some Arko incase anybody is wondering.

I will  have updates on this guy.  So far so hairs have fallen out either.  Thanks for watching!
