That's a good looking brush.

Just out of curiosity, was it purchased by yourself of was it a comp?

Thanks Luis, I wasn't sure.  I must be out of the loop as this is the first I have seen or heard of the VL Epsilon.

But looking on the site, they look amazing.

Just purchased both the 26/50mm and the 26/55 mm 2-band. Vie Long is the sleeper brand among brushes. High great quality, yet overlooked.

Performance on par with Simpson Duke 3/Chubby 2, same high level of hair quality imho
Also bought the Simpson Chubby 2 3-Band Super at giftsandcare  Biggrin

Nice brush buying day  Tongue

Did anyone experience their silver tip version? I see that silver tip version is little more money . From their site Two band is recommended for face leather/hard soap.

Hey Claus,
What is the difference in this new knot vs the ones you once had and sold last year . If I recall correctly you sold many vie long last year . Please advise

Thanks

I sold 2 2 Bands and a flat top Vie Long as far as I recall.

The red/white 2-band had a little bit too short a handle and I already had a near identical knot in my JL Petree 2-Band, 23mm versus 24 mm and 48 mm loft versus 50 mm loft.
The flat top was great, but too large on my face. I boguth it more as an experiment. Flat tops larger than 22-23 mm knot sizes will feel like 30+ mm normal brush knots on your face - HUGE !
The butterscotch 2-band was a GREAT brush, and I only sold it because the butterscotch was more orange than real butterscotch, and butterscotch is not my favorite handle color.
But the brush was a TOP PERFORMER IMHO.

I honestly have NOTHING negative to say about Vie Long.

I still don't get why people will stumble over each other to buy my Simpsons, M&F's brushes and my Thäters - while I have a hard time selling my Vie Longs.
Fact of the matter is that Vie Long is one great brushe maker.

Honestly I prefer my JL Petree 2-band and 3-Band Silvertip over my Simpson Duke 3's, which is why I sold all my 4 Duke 3's.
Duke 3 are overpriced brushes IMHO and my Vie Long's had specifications that matched the Duke 3's and I got better performance from my Vie Long's

Now the Chubby 2's and Chubby 3's are in a different league IMHO and worth the money. Duke 3's are not IMHO

YMMV

The difference with the new Epsilons is that it's the first time Vie Long has made a 26 mm knot, they normally stop at 24 mm
My Lord Randall is 24-25 mm and 3-band Silvertip, and a great performer.
I have high expectations regarding these new Epsilon Vie Long's.

I actually just bought both the 2-Band versions, the 50 mm loft and the 55 mm loft, because Vie Long is currently my favorite brush maker in front of M&F, Simpson and Shavemac.
To illustrate how good value these Vie Long's are, I just bought the Simpson Chubby 2 3-Band Super at Giftsandcare and also bought both the Epsilon 2-Bands in different loft.
I got 2 Vie Long's for the price of one Simpson Chubby 2 Super 3-band, and let me tell you that I expect both the Vie Long's to outperform the Chubby 2 3-band.

There I said it - I expect better performance from both the Vie Long 2-Band Epsilons. And they are half the price !

Okay, it's not quite fair to compare a 3-band Super to a 2-Band Super, but WHY not, performance is perfomance no matter what !?!

Mustafa,

I'm using this brush every day and lovely , if you like a great Backbone must try.

if you like least Backbone should go for the 55 mm.

This brush is very very dense, The Fan knot could be a Must.

Sorry guys, I think I bought the last two 2-bands available at G&G  Blush

If I prefer one over the other, I will contemplate selling the one I like the least, and Celestino will be first in line to get it.
If he is not interested, it will go on BST soon after that.

BUT - and I mean BUT I love Vie Long brushes, and it's very likely I will keep and enjoy both Epsilon 2-Bands.........

My probem is that my girl friend has provided me with 5 large shelfs, and one is for my brushes (one for my razors and skin care products, one for my elwectrical tooth brushes and after shaves and two for my huge soap and cream collection - not mentioning my HUGE 5 way white drawer where I keep my 500+ fragrnaces), and I can only press 33 in there, and I promised her I would stay on that number (not counting my daily bathroom brush, which is the Vie Long JL Petree 'Rover' 3-band 23mm beautiful bulb with 46 mm loft and my travel brush an Edwin Jagger STF v2 XL 25mm faux horn, which I have a hard time enjoying to use.

With the Chubby 2 3-band Super and the 2 Vie Long Epsilon Super 2-bands I bought today, I'm once again over the 33 limit, actually at 35 PRIME BADGERS, and one 620 boar  Angel

Will try the Epsilons out, but still have a lot of brushes to test, so my verdict will most likely not be out before July/August, since I feel I need to give them 10+ shaves before I can give my opinion on them.

I guess I will just wait for round two, but I got some nice Vie Long Beehives to assist my patience.
