I purchased it a few years ago from http://www.theenglishshavingcompany.com

It was one of those beautiful items I'd thought I'd acquire and use some day...

It may have been part of a set (I could have a matching brush somewhere... ?)

I'm not sure that the Briar Wood is available any longer...

I remember Muhle's Briar Wood razor but had never seen the EJ version and it is no longer in the EJ catalog. It looks like a great price for a very attractive razor. Do you know if this is the Merkur made head?

That's an excellent price; WCS has them in stock and sells them for $98.
I have one of these and it is a lovely, well-made razor. It is the Mühle/Jagger head (quite mild). The Jagger plating is usually noticeably higher quality than that of the Merkur products, IMHO.

Is it the Plaza? I do not recall EJ making it in Briar. The older EJ razors (4 or more years ago) all had heads made by Merkur but with better plating

re EJ Briar. i was looking at it a while back at TESC and inquired as to why it was not listed in the EJ subheading, below is what i was told.

either way, a sweet sweet looking (and assuming performing) razor.

I hope this is OK to post, if not, mods can remove.

Dear Bruce
Thank you for your email. The reason is that the Briar, whilst a fabulous razor made from genuine briarwood, is not one of the handmade Edwin Jagger razors. The handle for this razor is made in Europe even though the razor is assembled and pack here so we cannot claim it is Made in Sheffield, England.

Kind regards
Tania Fulton

That's what I thought, too, Ben. The Muhle is exquisite. I have it, and I can't stop admiring it. Just stunning.
Gentlemen, grab the Muhle in Ben's stash. She's a movie star.

Both remaining razors are UNUSED and at around 1/2 the price to buy new!

Yeah, I'm going to withdraw them at the end of the weekend.

They might end up on the other forum in a week or so, but not at these prices...
