Like the title says, Be careful. I laid down my Boker to rinse and relather between passes. Reached down to grab it by the jimps for the next pass, and grabbed it a bit further up. Drove the heel of the blade into my thumb. Bled like a stuck pig for about 15 minutes. Note to self: Don't grip the razor so hard.

OUCH!

Been there, done that.  Hope it did not require stitches like mine did.

Good luck with the healing, Mike!
I've never cut my fingers, but my cheek took a lovely 2 inch gash with an Inoue Kamisoiri when I was first starting this journey! I quickly learned to respect them, especially, those sharp points!  Biggrin

Thanks, Gentlemen.
Johnny, no stitches, thank God, but the darn thing bled profusely. I thought it was closed up this morning(Sunday). Went to church and started playing the piano. Started up again, and I had to go get another bandaid. Luckily that happened while I was playing softly as people were slowly arriving for the morning service, and not actually during the service itself.
Celestino, thank goodness I have never truly cut my face too bad. I do have a (very) small scar on my chin from early on, but you have to look for it to find it.

Yup.. sort of a right of passage.  I fillet'd my thumb tip while honing.  I sliced my index finger to the bone wiping oil off a brand new razor, fresh out of the box...  It happens

Good luck indeed! I'm sorry that happened to you. But as I tell everyone working with tools: a tool will try to do exactly what you tell it. Problems come in to play when what we "tell" them to do is not what we meant.
