I am enjoying the shaves with my R41. It is always a challenge to see if I can get BBS before blood. First I am sqweemish at the sight of major blood spill, I can't stand the sight of blood. Today my SOTD R41, PAA CAVINDISH, WSP SILVERTIP, Wilkin sword. First pass WTG excellent, second xtg. Great till I got halfway through my neck, I rinsed off lather from r41, applied r41 to my neck, did not move it and it bit and drew blood, I kept going till I felt major butterflies. Sat down, splashed cold water and clubman. Winner by TKO R41!!

This is a challenging razor to me. And if it seems like  I am getting along well it  is too strong to shave with it daily. I feel your pain! Smile

You gents have my respect. For sure I'm not manly enough for an R41. My RedTip or adjustable set on 3 or 4 is as aggressive as i care to get.

I  tried the R41 for some time.  It always gave me post shave irritation, so I stopped using it.  The R89 gave me just as close of a shave without the irritation.

I never got a comfortable shave from the R41, I sold it after about a month. My ATT H2 shaved just as good or better than the R41 while still being smooth.

I've got a 2013 R41 and I often feel it isn't aggressive enough. I never cut my face with it. However when I choose to use it on my head, I usually shave off a couple of old scars pretty regularly. Still not as bad as I have diced my head up with a straight or a Feather AC SS. I'm lucky though I guess, the sight of blood and gore doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I shave with a 2013 r41 on a how to grow a mustache symmetry handle daily. I read for months about how bad the r41 was,and I got to tell you IMO it's nowhere as bad as its made out to be IF you respect the razor and pay attention. I have had a couple of razors stop on my neck as the OP spoke of and just dig right in.Here's what I did to prevent that. Normal WTG first pass, second pass I make a double chin and go XTG for the upper part of my neck, certain spots on either side of lower neck I go XTG as best as possible,If I can't go XTG I do another WTG pass before I attempt ATG. As always with the r41 if you use pressure she'll bite and for me the sharper the blades the better in it. For ms however I'm more likely to get bitten by a futur on 6 (nearly everytime) rather than my r41 (0 yet)
