Earlier thread deleted because I messed up the question, as several pointed out. I'm reframing the question so that it is less confusing.

I voted no. I shower at night and shave in the morning.

I've tried it both ways. I tend to get better results if I shower immediately before shaving.

All depends. If I need to shower then yes, but if I have showered the night before (after a run, for example), then no. I really don't mind either way.

For the last week+ I've been trying the pre-shower shave and been seeing amazing results. For me a cold water shave before a shower with quality shaving kit is about as good as it gets.

I wash my face while in the shower then immediately apply a pre shave when I get out. The pre shave stays on for a few minutes then I rinse and shave right after.

what about a 'sometimes' option? sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

I always shower before, even if I am shaving in the evening.

I have learned that some guys have found that, for them, showering first results in a shave not so good as if they shaved first. Shaving: YMMV, and nothing works for everyone. Smile

I was just curious about the relative size of the two approaches. I really didn't have a preconceived idea how this would come out: 50-50 would have totally surprised me, but I was guessing it would be about 75-25 (shower first the 75).

Almost always shower first followed by a shave. Very rare occasion to not shave.

I shave in the morning before work and usually shower in the evening. I don't like doing them back to back most of the time.

Most of the times I don't as I usually shower at night after jogging and shave in the morning.

I shave in the bath. It's more relaxing than standing in front of a mirror, and the cleanup is easy.

It's essential for my facial hair to be very moist for quite a few minutes in order for it to be cut well. I've very thick hair.

Just curious: Have you tried a Slant Bar?
