Out of my "meager" rotation of 3 badger, 2 boar and 5 synthetic brushes, these are my preferred brushes of each type from those. I can't say I hate any of the brushes in rotation. Seems my overall preference these days is synthetic, for now at least.

Thank you, Rob.

It's definitely my favourite brush. I've been asked several times if I would sell it, but the answer will always be NO. Biggrin

These have not been used. I have found several NOS brushes made in the Nürnberg region. These should all be from VP Leonhardy. The quality of hair is rather good, but every brush is different.

this one (post bloom) has a particularly nice knot.

and this one looks very classy(pre bloom):

and my New Forest Tubby 1 Two Band; I did photos of all brushes I have today (more than 50). The two tall boar brushes are placed next to the brushes in regular use: I often use synthetic brushes because of time involved,  soaking and blow drying takes some time

We had a warm wonderful today in Bavaria. You will soon have spring back, and soon summer

Claus, what are the specs on that Shavemac flattop with the black/brown handle?

It's actually not a flattop, but a very flat fan shaped brush - sort of a hybrid between flattop and fan.

The specs are here, taken from the custom spec page I ordered it from on the hidden section on the Shavemac website:

Shaving Brush EXPERTS SELECT
Shape:142
Color:Brown Black
Quality and Size:24 mm Finest Badger
Hair length ( Loft):46 mm
Knot Shape:Fan Shape
Shavemac logo:Logo on outside
