The D.R. Harris scents Arlington and Marlborough seem to be their two most popular scents, but I can't decide which one to check out first.

I know scent is a very YMMV thing, but which do you prefer? Also, are the lavender and almond D.R. Harris scents worth checking out? Additionally, when will Windsor be available and does its scent compare favorably with Arlington and Marlborough?

Thanks. Smile

While I haven't tried the soap, the Marlborough AS was definitely not for me. The Arlington however is one of my favorites to use, both the soap puck and the aftershave.

I've tried the Arlington and Marlborough soaps - and prefer Arlington. It's a nice citrus-over-fern scent that works especially well in the warmer months.

Marlborough is more dark-woody and probably better suited towards colder weather. It's nice but Arlington is a classic.

I prefer the Marlborough but I like both a lot. Arlington is the better summer scent though.

If you like the scent of stale cigarette ash, Marlborough is your choice. It's okay once it's lather though.

Arlington is the better scent between the two, but Windsor beats them both.

Spot on, Insomniac! As far as I am concerned, the other scents are great too in their own ways, especially the Rose, which I love; the Lavender is a lot more subtle, but really nice nonetheless. The Almond is really sweet and rich, and a bit too cloying for me to use in the Summer months, but it'll be great to get back to in Winter. Malborough & Windsor are a bit too woody for me to use too often. Their fragrances don't seem to linger as long as the Windsor's, but that suits me fine.

My Nook smells great as I lather up & get on with the business of shaving!

I prefer Arlington. Purchase shave sticks for both scents. The DR Harris Shave sticks are excellent to use and an inexpensive way to see if you like the scent and soap. Keep the one you like then sell or trade the other.

I have Arlington and Lavender but want to try Marlborough again as I tried it far too long ago. I'd say that I prefer Arlington for now.

I like the Marlborough - though I must express that this is based solely on the soaps. The Almond is my 2nd choice of the 4 D.R. Harris soaps and I don't normally like almond.

I like bought equally. They're like night and day, can't compare. Both are complex scents. The Arlington is light citrusy. To me, it has almost identical scent to 4711 cologne. 4711 is described having Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, Petitgrain, Neroli, Rose, Rosemary, Musk in it. The Marlborough is spicy woody with some citrus notes as well. I just received my Marlborough AS. It's even more complex scent than the soap. I was surprised to recognize some peppermint and the new Windsor scent in it. So I love them both for what they are.

I quite enjoy the smell of cigarettes and cigars, so maybe I wouldn't mind it. Blush

Perhaps you're just not fond of "smoky" scents. I love the scent of Tabac, which lots of people claim smells like cigarette ash. What's your opinion of Tabac?

When will Windsor be available in shaving soap form?

When I spoke to them about this, they said it was in development, but couldn't give us a delivery date just yet. They were really pleased that people were keen to see the Windsor soap.

Another vote for Arlington. I don't mind the Marlborough scent, but I really like the Arlington, it's especially nice during the warmer months.

I put down Arlington. I have both, but the Marlborough just sits in a box in the closet.

It certainly isn't bad though.

Rlington, hands down. Like others have said, it's a good year-round scent. Plus, swmbo won't allow marlborough on me!

If you have ever tried the razorock XXX i think the arlington is very close to that scent, if you like xxx i think you would like this and vise versa and so on,... also if you like a good splash the 4711 is a similar scent as well !
