I want to clarify this statement...
The Fine soap is virtually identical to the current AoS Sandalwood scent (in cream, soap, and discontinued EdT). Which is a different scent from the vintage AoS tallow soap.

OOOOOOOOhhhhhh that makes it even more tempting. The vintage soap lathers great, but the modern scent is better IMO.

My Fine week ended with their Platinum cream and then Platinum soap. I can safely say this brand will always have space on my shelf. I enjoy the variety of scents. The soap base is really great and their cream is just as good.

Moving on, this week I'll be tapping into my various MDC soaps.

I like this layout... I get bored with individual scents too quickly to use the same scent day after day. Having the option to switch scents while using the same soap base for a week is my pace.

Today was looking for some exogenous sunshine, so I used Agrumes. As prescribed, my day feels brighter and without negative side effects. Take note Big Pharma.

Been really enjoying the MdC soaps.
I've used the Rose twice (including today), Agrumes twice, and Vetyver once. I haven't even used my favorite yet, Fougere.

Sometimes I shave daily, other times every two days, and other times every three days. Today's shave with Rose was the first shave in three days, and it handled the operation as expected : noooo problems or surprises.

Chalk up another: I don't know why I use anything else

I finished my tub of CF Lavender. As well documented, it i a very good cream. Up next was a surprise cream. I've been itching to use my boar brush with an Italian soap. I gave Mondial another try, and the burn was immediate.  Undecided Having my Proraso Pro ready to go, I searched one my my boxes and found a new tube of Proraso Blue. Proraso always produces a great lather. Certainly worth the $10 price. Even better when you can find it on sale. The scent of Proraso Blue is just okay. It is difficult to describe the scent notes. To me, it smells like a dermatologist recommended hand lotion. Not unpleasant at all. I do enjoy the light menthol kick. From memory (none on hand), I feel it is less menthol than the green version.

Which Mondial, Gabe?

It was the Mondial No. 908 Homme Traditional. Shame as I loved the light citrus scent.

I've been using B&M Lime/Lavender/Cedardwood since the new year. I still really enjoy this scent and the shaves, but decided to jump to a more potent lavender, Mike's Hungarian. Mike's is starting to smell slightly rancid, and it's not the first of his soaps to do so. I hope it's just the top layer but it gives me a good reason to stick with it for a while.

Huh, that’s interesting. Mike’s sure do last a long time. I’ll check all of my inventory - I have soaps 3-4 years old

Nice! I just pulled my two Taconic creams from my sale. Always a great shave and flies under the radar.

What did you find, if you remembered Mike? After leaving my soap open and using it once or twice it seems to have gotten better. But I remember buying a used Mike's on the BST and having a similar issue - that one had orange oil in it though which is notorious for being unstable.

The shaves are very good, by the way, Mike's is a solid performer! His website indicates he moved to Portland too, but the FAQ and photos still say Ann Arbor. I was thinking maybe I could save on shipping Smile

I have some old orange cedarWood and black pepper that is still good. In fact, all my Mike’s are still good (OC&BP, coconut, barbershop, lemongrass & eucalyptus, & wild honeysuckle).

MDC Week was as enjoyable as ever. It crept into 2, maybe 2.5 weeks, as I just wasn't shaving every day and used a couple of the scents twice.

I've moved on to a PAA week. When they released Irish Springs a few weeks ago, I ordered it immediately. This is a scent I've been waiting for. This is the definition of "soapy" and I really hope this category gets filled with other artisan offerings.

So, yeah, I started off with Irish Springs, and I've used it twice already. The aftershave is really nice too, as it gives a smooth finish with the seaweed extract.

A bright and happy scent is a nice touch right now.
