I've shaved 4 days in a row.

4 different razor/cream permutations: 2 shaves with Lupo (aluminum) with Polsilver and 2 shaves with RR Hawk (v2, aluminum again) with Kai.

No problems at all.

Really enjoy both scents, I have to say. The cooling of the menthol in the Green has been a nice touch for sure.

Be well

Any differences in performance between the green and their premium creams? I feel slickness is an area classic Proraso lacks in. Perhaps the Single Edge premium formula is better.
Honestly, I wasn't paying that close attention to the difference, as I had no issues with either.

Do you have Proraso green or CO Bigelow? IIRC, they do not have the exact same formula. (might be wrong, going from memory like 7 years ago.)

I use straights, where slickness is a must. I never cared for Proraso, until Single Blade was released. I find Single Blade to be a much improved cream and with terrific slickness.

You and I both. Since using Proraso blue, I've been picking up my DE more often. I might have to try the Single Edge formula. Same menthol kick?

Just checking in ... Still using Mike's Lavender with no complaints. I am changing up the aftershave, using Razorock XXX this week. I will continue to use Mike's until I .... move into my new house!!

Yes, that's right, after more than a year house hunting (while living in a studio apartment on short term leases since we were actively looking), we closed today. I was outbid 5 times, rejected twice, and one owner didn't have clear title to his own home and couldn't get it fixed by closing. But we have landed on a winner. It needs a lot of updating, but it is in a wonderful neighborhood with a view of the Puget Sound. I can't wait to put my mark on it. It has a great garage, but no shave nook of my own to report. The master doesn't even have a vanity beyond the bare minimum to hold a sink. Maybe when the remodeling is done!!

Thanks, Gabe! We've been enjoying the view off our new deck, and the movers have dropped off everything. Unpacking feels daunting (the movers packed our boxes for us as part of my relo package). Here is said view - a far cry from the Sonoran desert, although I do miss the low humidity.

I'm shaving for the first time in approx 2 weeks. Still Mike's Lavender.

What a great view. I can imagine it is quite enjoyable paired with a nice cup of coffee.

It most certainly is. I've found a shop near the house that sells Olympia Coffee, a fantastic roaster. Soon I'll have my espresso machine unpacked and set up again. I might have to mail order some more Peixoto though from Chandler.

I've been using Wickham's 1912 Ninfeo di Egeria. The scent is very pleasant. It is a light green, fresh scent that is rounded out nicely by the wood and amber notes. Perfect for this time of year.

Here are the scent notes.

Scent Profile :
Top notes: Amalfi Lemon, Galbanum, Petitgrain, Bitter Orange
Heart notes: Fig Leaf, Lentisque
Base notes: Wood and Amber

I'm one shave into B&M Reserve week... I used the Seville, which is amazing. It's kinda like Orange Soda meets Powdery.
(unfortunately it was just a one time offering in this base, and glad I bought a backup)

Others I'll be using:
Waves
Cool
Spice
Fern
Classic (need to find it)
Fougere Angelique
Fougere Gothique

Interruption!!
I had a delivery of T+S that came in and I wanted to try it immediately, so I used the Rainforest Two yesterday. It is a fir forward scent, and I'm a sucker for those. The lather has no suds, thank God... in fact, it was very yogurty. Thick, slick, and protective.
I'll get back to the B&M Reserve week soon... although I MIGHT try the T+S Sicily beforehand.

I hit the B&M Reserve Fern today. Love it. It's funny, when I first bought it, I felt it was too bright for me.
But that has faded and what remains is still very robust, but now without that sharpness.
Green, powder, moss, solid lavender support (the masculine type, slightly spicy), sweet grass. Happy and sunny (not blinding).
Now I'm upset I didn't buy the AS.

I've only used the B&M Reserve Cool and it was a sample jar. I don't remember it being markedly different from the Glissant base, what do you think Nero?

I actually moved onto a different shave two weeks ago and forgot to post an update! TOBS Shaving Shop, which I still wish they'd bring back. And for the aftershave, Yves Saint Laurant "Y". My wife can't get enough of the cologne so of course I bought the matching aftershave!

And yes I took a SOTD photo featuring my view, since I'm still wearing an s--t eating grin when I look out over my deck. Cool

I never used the Glissant base, so I can't say.

But, on another note, I used Cool today and really enjoyed it. Still my fave Floid.

The lather is interesting. It starts off snotty and stringy, and so it takes a considerable amount of water to break that down. Worth the time and effort for sure. For me, it is best palm lathered, as that makes it easier for lather quality assurance...if I face lather, I would tend to stop adding water and the lathering process too soon for this base.

No, this is actually from my visit to the flagship store in London, back in 2014. It has definitely dried out to a croap consistency but the scent has thankfully persisted  Cool . If I could have bought another from you I would have though, I agree it's in their top three scents (I do also really like Avocado, and for an AS/Cologne Eton College).

Today I tapped into the Fougere Angelique for my shave. It has a lot of sweet lime and some evergreen, so it's a good summer scent even though I believe it's intended purpose is the Xmas season. Nothing wrong with being multi-talented, so no points lost there.

I failed to post yesterday, when I used Waves. It's better than Gillette's scent, from which it is derived.

I'm sticking to my story that Reserve is best palm lathered and taking a little extra time to get it right.

I know what you mean. The two tubs I sold had solidified, as well...I think that's why I sold them, but I'm still mad at myself. Madder at them for discontinuing it
