Got the bandage taken off my eye today. It's red but not as bad as pinkeye or something like that. No pain, no discomfort.

Yesterday before the operation my vision was 20/200. I could only read the big E at the top of the eye chart. Today it is 20/40. It should be even better tomorrow and continue to improve as it heals.

My left eye I had done 2 months ago. I couldn't even see the big E on the chart with this eye. It was 20/400. The day I got the bandages off it was 20/40 and the very next day it was 20/20 and it has stayed there since. It looks like the current operation is having very similar results!

Today is the first day in 50 years or more that I can clearly see without needing glasses (except to read). I think it's a miracle. Tomorrow I intend to sit out on my back deck and just look at stuff. I have good 3D vision now as well so I have a lot to explore. The good 3D has been the hardest thing to adjust to. I basically have to relearn all my distances. What I adjusted to as a distance of 6 feet, for example, doesn't look like 6 feet now.

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes you all gave me. It is clear they helped a lot.

To any of you who will have to face cataract surgery in the future take it from me: there's nothing to it. The operation does NOT hurt, the eye doesn't hurt after the operation either. There isn't even so much as discomfort. You can just suddenly see!

Congrats Dave. I'm glad all went so well. Even 20/40 wouldn't be that bad considering the other is 20/20.

I just couldn't imagine going to a Hooters for wings without 3D. Biggrin

good to hear, Dave. I recently had my eyes checked and they were 20/15, in both eyes, which is better than 20/20, according to the doctor.

In regards to cute waitresses and Hooters in 3D let me say that my mother warned me about booby traps like this! Biggrin

Have you seen the eye doctor scene from the movie, Final Destination 5? If not, watch here. NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!! LOL!

I hope you make a full recovery, UncleDave. At least you get time off from work and shaving ; )

Thanks! I've been sitting out on my back deck just looking at things. I do this almost every day. It's amazing to go from extremely poor vision to near perfect vision so suddenly.Biggrin
