Where credit's due. I'm amazed at the performance I get from an inexpensive tube of Palmolive shave cream.  I bowl lather a product to judge the quality of it's lather, I'm able to observe it's qualities or lack of better that way and I have to say that other than fragrance, which is a subjective thing and I kinda like it, Palmolive performs way, way above it's pay grade. I know there are many versions of it but I've only ever tried the one

Anyone else as impressed as I am?

IMHO a very nice budget cream, but it lacks slickness and protection IMHO

I get a better shave and overall performance from Speick cream and Proraso red, blue and white creams than I get from either of the 3 Palmolives creams I own.

I would rate the Palmolive creams a 7/10 for overall performance
Not a bad cream, but far better alternatives out there for not much more money IMHO

I happily used Palmolive and Noxzema shave creams for years here till they stopped selling them. Not a lot wrong with either. Now I happily use the Palmolive shave stick which is a good bang for the buck.

Well, it is all a bit murky about what's going on but as far as I can understand it the Palmolive shave stick will no longer be sold in the UK market. It will continued to be made in Germany and sold in other markets though. I had a friend send me a dozen sticks from the UK just in case.

From what I've seen, the sticks, grated, are better than the creams.

I haven't used it in a while but those were EXACTLY my sentiments, as well, regarding the stick... I do not think there is a bigger steal in shavedom than the Palmolive stick.
I love the scent. Not fancy, but certainly very pleasant to my nose and an excellent morning wake-me-up. Soapy, outdoorsy, and invigorating.

I guess we are in full agreement then as I also agree with you on the scent and your description of it.

This cream was one of my firsts. Surely I have better creams in my den, but I still use it in my rotation. The scent is green, clean, slickness and protection are not the best, but good enough to recommend it to all the newbies.

I'm using a tube myself which is in rotation. A very good SC for the price. When i'm in a rush and need a quick shave I use this SC. There are other SCs that deserve credit but doesn't.

My wife put a firm veto on Palmolive cream on the account of scent.
There was only one other product that she exercised her veto right - Il Coloniali Soap.
Other than that she has been 110% supportive of this hobby.
