Hi All,

I've come across this English #66 razor and the asking price is about $67 USD. I'm conflicted if the price is worth it or no. They are nice razors, but this one does have some plate loss.

Is $67 worth paying for this razor?

Thanks

I would think so...should clean up quite nicely and I have seen them as high as $350.00...(mint)...check out Above the Tie and Razor Emporium for pricing on some of these types...the English one always go for more than others and considering the case and the fact that cleaning them is quite easy with an old toothbrush and some metal polish I don,t think you would regret your purchase....mind you if you are not an collector and are only looking for a good shaver you can spend much less for example Parkers new OC 3 piece are great shavers for about $30.00 US

You can send to the Razor Emporium and ask to revamp, operation inspection, and the box looks new, you will be with a great razor for use or for sale

Thanks. I decided to get this. I'll see how well it cleans up and worse case I get it replated.

(correction: It's actually a #16)

Based on the pictures you showed NO. The price actually sounds low. If you were buying a mint condition #66 you would be paying over a $100, Enjoy it, they give a great shave.

These British razors are great performers and they are highly valued for their immortal qualities. If you clean and revamp this razor (at Razor Emporium or other revamping/re-plating joint), it would be aesthetically perfect and will serve you for decades. Worth it.  Congrats, you did well.
