Hi guys, I'm a fan of larger razor handles, om purchased some aftermarket handles but I'm looking for a larger one.  It doesn't haft to be stainless steel, Matter of fact the handles I do own are chrome/brass.  So far the largest handle I have found comes on a tradere/boss/toro mastiff razor, yes I will buy a razor just for the handle and the head is just a plus. Also looking at the apollo handle as well. Looking for a minimum of 3 3/4 inch in length and the heavier the better. Prefer it also to be readily available. All suggestions are welcomed and thanks for your time.FWIW it's for a 2013 r41.

Nice! Isn't the Kronos the largest handle? 3 1/2 inches i about as small as I'd like to go,I would prefer closer to 4 inches in length, I have bear claws for hands lol...

The original handles offered were the Atlas and Kronos (then Titan), then I believe, 2 years later Stan released the Colossus. I found it to be a very good quality machined handle with nice grippy knurling. (and it looks the best in the inkwell stand Smile )

below is the copied off the ATT website

Quote:Above the Tie is proud to offer the Colossus Stainless Steel Safety Razor Handle, hand crafted from solid 303 Stainless Steel here in the USA.

The Colossus Handle is 4″ long and weighs 86 grams providing amazing grip and prevents that top heavy razor feel. This tool is wonderfully machined with very tight tolerances.

I've never used the Apollo, but it doesn't look to be too bad for the price. Do you have a preference on the diameter of the handle? The Apollo I believe is about 0.5" so ~ 13mm. Weight is advertised at 3.5 oz so ~ 100g more or less. Seems like a nice weight but there are certainly heavier handles out there if you are after the weight. Another handle that may interest you is the iKon SE handle. Here is a picture:

Oh I like that handle as well. Thank you for your posts you've been very helpful, unfortunately I believe I have another acquisition disorder coming on. It's really like buying different razors for me at least as razors perform so differently with different handles, especially the r41. It's been my expierence the r41 performs better with heavier longer handles.

You're welcome, anytime! As always with everything in shaving, YMMV. Only way to truly find what works best is to try different things!

Check out the Utopia Chrome handle. Nice hefty beast. Here are the full razor specs and the whole razor can be bought for under $20 shipped off of the bay and amazon. Handle fits most heads! Used one with a tech head for a while then PIF to a buddy.

Overall weight: 118.35
Handle weight: 83.63
Overall length: 108.15
Length of handle: 99.60
Handle diameter: 11.90
Handle diameter @ bottom: 14.10
Length of head: 41.08
Width of head: 25.28

Weight is in grams and measurments in millimeters. (25.4mm = 1 inch)

Measurments are from my calibration lab at work so no seller guess work etc.

Matador Razors sell some very heavy and very well made handles made of brass and chrome-plated which are very inexpensive.

The tradere and matador and even the boss brand all have that same style handle your right it's cheap too. I can resist the utopia handle it's 11 bucks for the razor, but I'm only after the handle so win win.

Maggard handles are terrific. The Apollo handle is quite nice too -- really large and heavy.

The ATT Collossus is super beautiful, but a lot more money.

You could buy a unique handle from Triad:

+1 on the Maggard MR8.  I don't know if it is long enough for you, but it is massive.  It is also now the only handle I am currently using on all of my razors.  It even kicked the ATT Colossus out of its kingpin seat.

Italian Barber has recently started selling their cheap ($19.99) stainless handles.

http://www.italianbarber.com/collections/new-stuff

I fear that even the biggest one isn't quite long enough for what you're wanting though. Can't speak for quality, but they are a good price for stainless.

I believe Maggard's MR9 is quite a large, heavy handle. They offer an extensive selection and the price is very reasonable.

I have one of their open comb shaving heads, and it is a great way to try an OC -- very good shaver.

Forgot to mention you can purchase these @ amazon.com.They are also in a package that is better than any othe handle I've encounted to date.

The ATT Colossus handle is about 4 inches long. That is the longest one I know of. Might check Maggard or Amazon sells an Apollo stainless one that is pretty long!
