Does the Vie-Long 75th Anniversary LE Two Band brush contain the same badger hair as the Vie-Long Epsilon LE Two Band brush?

From the photographs, the hair looks different and the bulb shape appears to be different as well.

Are the handles the same for both brushes?

As far as we have been explained hair is coming from different batches. Independently of that, Vie-Long Two Band badger is recognized as one of the best in the markets due to the fact that company that prepares Vie-long badger hair (for the last 60 years) and knot manufacturing by Vie-long are both locally handmade in the Region of Valencia, Spain.

Pictures can always distortion a bit the reality but shape probably varies due to the fact that one is 24mm knot and Epsilon 26mm knot.

Handles are completely different in terms of size and shape.

Thank you!  How does hair knot density compare between the Epsilon and the 75th anniversary brush?

To me it looks that density is higher on Epsilon shaving brushes. Here you can get an idea of Epsilon density. Two of them two band hair 50mm and 55mm loft and two silvertip 500mm and 55mm loft.

This looks really nice. I've been looking for a black handled two band, so, I ordered one last night. I forgot to request the TSN discount, I'm hoping they will honor it after the fact.

BTW. During May there are two gifts to choose when ordering. A Mondial soap and a Mazorin product.

Now the wait begins.

Do you get to select a certain Mondial soap or cream or they just pick one for you?

Looking forward to get your comments on this particular brush. Seems like it didn't captured the attention in the way epsilon did.

I'm looking for something with good flow, soft tips and some nice backbone. This looks like it may fulfill expectations.

I'll let you know....

Two more pics. The Vie-Long is still wet... it had a bit of the moth balls smell which I hopefully removed with a couple of lathers.

Here it is between a Thater 4292/5 and a Morris & Forndran 1/3 Blonde.  The tips of the Vie Long are very white.  I lathered in a bowl and the shape of the knot gives great control. At first it didn't seem that dense, but after blooming...wow.

The handle feels great too. It's a beautiful brush.

UPDATE: As the brush has dried this evening, it has bloomed a bit more, and is really dense. It is soft and very plush while maintaining vertical strength. I guess because of the slightly higher loft it feels less dense when wet.

First shave was a bit of a surprise.  The knot was soft, springy but with a bit more scrub and scritch than I was expecting. When the knot is dry it is very soft, but during lathering this morning there was a lot of tactile feedback.

Lather building was easy and the brush gave it up very well.

I look forward to seeing if there is any change during the next few shaves.  It will take a few shaves for me to make good comparisons to my other two band brushes.  My favorite is  the Paladin, so I'll probably use that as a baseline.

Would you think that the brush will be suitable for face lathering ?
I have been pondering over this brush for a while. I found a 48-50 mm loft is ideal for face lathering. My benchmark is the Rooney Emillion #2 in super badger.
But I have never owned a 2-band before. If the backbone here is stronger, perhaps I will give it a try.
Also, the bulb shape seems to need a tad higher loft than the hybrid shape, such as Rooney.
Thanks!

I face lathered with it and found the higher loft gave me great control of the lather. This brush definitely has plenty of backbone.
I'll know more after a few more shaves!
