I have to pack these items for the move, so this thread is closed. Thanks to everyone who bought stuff!!

______________________________________________________________________________________

Here are a couple of large lots of soaps and creams. They will each need to be shipped in a medium flat rate box which costs about $11 to ship. That's reflected in the asking price.

This is a great way to start out in with soaps/creams - included is some pretty nice stuff. There's a lot in each of these lots. Smile

One note: Some of these things are older and may have dried out a bit. Some are vintage, and have never been used, so I have no idea if/how they perform.

NOTE: Klar Kabinett removed from each lot, and the prices have been adjusted accordingly.

2) Muhle Silvertip Fibres brush + Vie-Long Horsehair brush - $55 $50 shipped USA

This is another wonderful synthetic brush. This is a Muhle Silvertip Fibres brush (model 31 M-89 - $95 new from Bullgoose). Knot - 21 mm, loft - 50 mm. This is in like-new shape, and has only been used 5 times. Like all STF brushes, this has soft tips and excellent backbone. The handle is beautiful, and will match your Muhle razor well.

Thrown in for free is a used Vie-Long Horsehair brush. 21 mm knot, 61 mm loft. The knot is lovely and doesn't shed. The handle has lovely heft. The wood portion is starting to lose its finish a bit.

Ever-Ready Lucite handle reknotted with TGN Finest + Whipped Dog brush -- $55 $45 shipped USA

This is a large Ever-Ready brush with a lucite handle. It shows its age and use (has some crazing at the knot cup), but is a lovely handle in use. It has a great TGN Finest Badger knot - 24 mm knot with 55 mm loft. This is a large brush with nice backbone and density and is nice in use.

It is paired with a Whipped Dog brush with a black marbled handle. This is a lovely handle and is pretty and comfy. It's been used about 10 times. The Knot is a Whipped Dog High Mountain Badger knot. 24 mm with 53 mm loft. It sheds a bit. It's pretty new, so it could settle down, but if not, the handle alone is worth getting this brush for.

Vintage Plisson brush (badger) + Semogue 2000 - $50 $45 shipped US

This is an interesting vintage Plisson brush. It has a lovely resin handle with a deep reddish brown colour with horn-like streaks in it. The older Plisson label is present, but has faded a bit. The knot is an interesting one - if I didn't know better, I'd say it was a badger/boar mix. It is a sketched badger knot with excellent backbone and a little scrub. It is great in use, even though it is no longer very pretty. Knot is 20 mm with a 48 mm loft.

It is paired with a like-new Semogue 2000 boar brush. This is another brush that doesn't need any introduction - it has a lovely, large boar knot that's just starting to get broken-in. The handle is perfect and the knot doesn't shed.

Gold Dollar #1 - 13/16" - $25 $18 shipped US

This is one of the common Gold Dollar razors, but this one has been honed and muted (so it doesn't damage your strop). It has taken a nice edge, and it is a nice size for someone who wants a more substantial blade. It has the usual plastic GD scales and it is a round-point. It's somewhere around a 3/4" hollow.

Charnley Forest #2 - part-boxed - $80 shipped US

This is a another great example of a Charnley Forest Hone. It has a beautiful dark green colour with a few reddish spots around the hone.

It is also very fine - it adds keenness after a coticule or Escher/Thuri. Charnleys are 'surface' hones. No need for slurry (in fact, that would have a negative effect on the hone). This surface needs to be burnished to get the best edges off the hone. This specific Charnley already has had the burnishing done, and it is very fine.

It works best with a light honing oil - giving a mirror-edge to the razor. However, it also works with water or soapy water. A thicker oil would make it even finer, but will be much slower. I also think this hone will get finer with use. Like all Charnleys, it is slow. The surface is mostly flat with two corners not being all the way flat, but it will not get in the way of honing. If you decide to lap it, you will have to recondition the surface to get the keenness this hone can provide.

The dimensions on this stone are about: 7" x 1 3/4" x 1/2". This hone can be removed from the base, and like most Charnleys, it doesn't have a flat underside. It has a base box, but no cover. The base matches the profile of the hone.

Llyn Idwal (Grecian) hone - $75 shipped US.

This is another Llyn Idwal hone - it is one of the hones that was sold under the 'Grecian' brand name, but it is not from Greece. This one is softer than the one above and it is pretty fast on oil. I like the edge from this hone, but I'd use it more as a pre-finisher. There may be more that can be squeezed from this hone, but I haven't had the time to work on it.

This hone is a nice size: 7 3/4" x 2" x 13/16".

I would love the Klar Kabinett if you decide to break up the lot. I can pick it up from you when you move to Seattle. How is the move coming along?

Klar Kabinett had a lot of demand, and has been sold separately. Prices have been adjusted to reflect this.

Consolidated several items into one thread. No point in cluttering up the BST forum.
