And here's my last stop on a travel through the limited edition Semogue brushes: the LE2010 Selected Silvertip
This is an extraordinary brush, and a very special one for me. It has a knot of 24mm and a loft of ~53mm of a "Selected Silvertip" grade of badger hair. It is pretty dense, with a good amount of backbone, and the tips are one of the softest that I've opportunity to try - they are softer than my T&H/Rooney 1/3 Silvertip, and with a lot more backbone.
Some user say that this type of hair is comparable with Shavemac D01's hair - I really don't know, since I've not tried a D01.
I am a fan of boar brushes, and certainly Semogue's boars are among the best that I've tried. And I really appreciate shaving brushes with handles made with natural materials like wood or horn - those type of materials will always rank higher than plastic or acrylic on my list of values.
This Semogue LE2010 is neither a boar brush, neither has a wood or horn handle. But If I was asked to give the "Best Semogue Ever Made" award, I guess this is perhaps the most serious contender. And this acrylic handle may not be made of wood, horn or something like that - but it is a beauty of in its own right.
I seriously think that Semogue should have something with this type of hair among its current production models, and I hope that happens in the future.

Holding on to number 17 here. It really is a special brush. I find that Semogue does excellent LE brushes that are just a steal for what they get priced for. The Caravela, the 09 and 10 LE, and while I've been holding out on a LE 11 I may budge soon if I don't see hope of a barrel handled Semogue in Finest... pp
Going back on track, I do have a Shavemac D01 and there are some similarities. I think overall the LE 10 is softer, and not as dense, but retains a majority of the backbone you'll find in D01 and is still going to give you a good experience of what a Shavemac D01 is like. It's no slouch in any measure. It holds up very well on it's own, and has better flow to boot. I feel it deserves to stand on it's own merits, but I can definitely see similarities and comparisons between the two.
